STARS RIDE

Santa Cruz de La Palma - Barlovento

Description:

First stage where the highest point of the island will be reached: Roque de los Muchachos (2.420m) where astronomy and nature go hand in hand. Impressive views over the Caldera de Taburiente Natural Park, and situated next to large observatories. The ascent will be by the track of Puntallana passing by the Mirador de los Andenes above a Mar de Nubes, and the descent by the track of Los Gallegos.

JUNGLE RIDE

Barvolento - Garafía

Description:

A tour through the wettest, most natural, and wildest area of the island. A first loop will let us discover the main flora and fauna of the National Park of Las Nieves and its Bosque de los Tilos with a descent to the seafront to visit the Natural Pools of Charco Azul. We will finish the stage cycling along the Carretera de las Mimbreras, the most magical road of the island, passing through its narrow stone tunnels.

BANANA RIDE

Garafía - El Paso

Description:

In this stage we ride to the northwest of the island, where we enter a warmer and drier climate. In the first part of this stage we will travel about 25km adjacent to the Caldera de Taburiente Natural Park passing through vineyards and pine forests, always at an altitude of more than 1,000m, we will descend passing by the Mirador del Time where we can observe for the first time the impressive Aridane Valley with the lava flows of the volcano and the Banana and avocado plantations.

VOLCANO RIDE

El Paso - Santa Cruz de La Palma

Description:

A special stage through a volcanic zone, making a circular route of about 40km to the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park. In the first kilometers of the stage we will be able to observe the recent lava flows of the Tajogaite Volcano that erupted at the end of 2021. We will also have the experience of pedaling on tracks covered by volcanic ash. Finally we will finish our adventure descending to sea level to the capital Santa Cruz de La Palma with its cobblestone streets and beaches with unique black volcanic sand.

How to get to La Palma?

Each participant will be responsible for organizing and booking their trip from where they come from, both the round trip and the return trip.

How can I get from the airport to the official departure hotel?

The organization will provide you with transportation from the airport to the official departure hotel on Tuesday, October 22 or Wednesday, October 23 and also for your return on Sunday, October 27 or Monday, October 28.

Who transports the suitcases between stages?

Luggage transportation between stages will be the responsibility of the organization. At the hotel departure from Santa Cruz de La Palma, it is also possible to leave luggage during the adventure, it will be delivered at the end of the last stage at the same hotel.

Is it a competitive event?

No, but each participant will be able to know the time it took to finish each stage. This time will be facilitated by the geolocation system that each participant during the stages.

What bike can I use to participate in the event?

The routes are designed for Gravel bikes, but mountain bikes can also be used.

Ebikes are also welcome to enjoy the adventure.

For any type of bike, a minimum tire width of 40 is recommended.

Will the circuit be physically marked?

No, the circuits will not be marked, participants must follow a track through a GPS, as well as go through all the Control Points and refreshment stations.

Will there be refreshment stations during the tours?

Yes, in each stage there will be several refreshment stations with solid and liquid material.

Will there be vegetarian and vegan food at meals?

Yes, all meals will have a vegetarian and vegan option.

Will I be able to wash clothes between stages?

No, there will not be any service as such offered by the organization.

How and where do you sleep?

Participants sleep in accommodations in remote areas and in the middle of nature. Participants will share accommodation with other colleagues. The accommodation facilities will have: dining rooms, bathrooms, showers and electricity connection.
